Post marketing Surveillance

After its approval, post-marketing surveillance monitors the vaccine's safety and effectiveness to catch adverse effects and long-term risks that have not been detected at the clinical trial level. Methods of conducting post-marketing surveillance include spontaneous reporting, active surveillance, cohort studies, and long-term follow-up. Monitoring vaccine safety thus ensures vaccines stay safe and remain effective to provide public confidence in them. This is improved with the help of the World Vaccines R&D Conference.
